Ticket Giveaway: The Dance Party / Ra Ra Rasputin / Tigercity / Casper Bangs @ 9:30 Club

There is going to be a pretty huge rock party extravaganza this Friday @ 9:30 Club with The Dance Party, Ra Ra Rasputin, Tigercity, and Casper Bangs. Not to mention the first and only time The Dance Party’s limited run EP “Tigers” will be available. Oh, and according to Viper of The Dance Party, they will be “partying all night long with reckless abandon and carefree danger”. Normally you’d think that was just hype bullshit, but I know these guys, and they mean it with all their hearts.
We have 2 pairs of tickets + two free copies of the Tigers EP for two lucky winners. All you have to do is show some love in the comments.

“This is one of the tracks we’re considering for our new record. We’re going to have some different sounds to the record and we felt this had an interesting to it.
The instrumental sounded really Whitney Houston so we dug it. It was produced by The Dance Party and Nick Public (an awesome DJ from San Francisco – http://www.myspace.com/publicworld) with engineering help from our boy Kyle Downs, and was mixed up at Quad Studios in NYC by Andros Rodriguez.
We start recording the new record out in LA next week. It may show up on the record in one form or another.”

Ra Ra Rasputin isn’t so shabby either! faces will be licked, shoes will burn off of feet, guys will be wearing more make up than the girls. hopefully not, but if so the dance party will melt faces off as well as ear drum pieces.

July 7, 2009 at 3:26 pmMy friend knew Kevin (DP) back when they were young bucks. She regaled us with this humorous story involving Kevin, a bunch of neighborhood kids, and a dog collar. Apparently, he shocked said friend with an electric fence dog collar waaay back in the day. everyone piled on top of her, and she thought people were pinching her when really he was holding the collar up to her neck and it was shocking her.
hearing her retell this story was the funniest thing, ever.

To be honest, I can’t say I know much about the Dance Party or Tigercity, but I hear nice things. Great things, even. I do, however, know a bit about Ra Ra Rasputin, Russia’s greatest love machine. Although I cannot personally speak of their love-making skills, judging from their dripping wet booty banging beats, I fathom they can hang.
I also come from Russia, but unlike Rasputin, my love-machine skills are only so-so. Please help a poor Muscovite hone his booty-shaking skills by hooking me up with a ticket to the show. Maybe someday, I too can rival my great predecessor. Pozhalusta, I plead!

Two bands I knew she didn’t know but thought she might like because they’re fun and DC locals.

Concerning the dance party, you overlooked that:
their guitarist is an asshole,
their singer needs to get a haircut and put his shirt back on
their keyboardist used to be in Beauty Pill (wtf happened?)
their drummer used to be in an emo band!?!
AND their bassist is Rishi.
on top of that they have no indie cred.

What a GREAT Line up! Ra Ra Rasputin, Casper Bangs AND Dance Party (not sure about Tigercity, haven’t heard them yet) are all super talented local bands and this is definitely a “bang for your buck” show! I’m planning to be there (being unemployed at the moment, it’d be great to have a free ticket!) Sure to be a fun night!
