BYT,
I want said tickets because:
1) I am a supfan of PJ Harvey since high school. I even blog about her in my adulthood.

2) I am haunting, complicated and pale as well.

and C) my married friends will be jealous of my hipster Friday night plans.
Thank you for your consideration,
Tara
I want to go because I'm curious as to why every single male band mate I've ever had the pleasure of collaborating with has named her as a dream wife. Yes, just curious. Also, want to see if she can, in fact, sing more than one note.
You should give a pair of the tickets to me because despite being a PJ Harvey superfan I'm a broke joke and (in between the medical billz & rent in a disgusting "living the dream" punk house with 6 roommates) just probably can't shell out $50 to see the woman of my dreams in the flesh.
How can I convince you of my PJ worship? Almost every formative or significant memory in my short pitiful life is inextricably linked to her music.
Come on BYT!!!
I know she puts on incredibly inspiring shows and I want to be apart of it!
Peace:)
you should give them to beck because she is the biggest pj harvey fan i have ever met!
Because its in my horoscope...
This may be a storybook day that brings you love, but an idyllic situation might not be as long-lasting as you wish. Your key planet Venus creates opportunities for romance, creativity and spontaneity, while the Moon in your sign increases the volume on your dreams. You must find a comfortable balance between being more realistic and living in the moment. You surely don't want to miss the fun, yet raising your hopes too high can prove disappointing later on. Oh yeah, you will also win tickets to the Pj Harvey show.
You should give them to Beck... Because she knows people... important people
Hey Svetlana. Since you've asked, here goes with a bit of PJH nostalgia.. I couldn't say this about any other artist, but I've been a fan of peej ever since a close friend got Rid of Me in 1993, and I copied it on cassette & played it hundreds of times.. Taped MTV's 120 Minutes every week on VHS (yeah I'm old) & remember seeing the "Down by the Water" video right when that was released (a drastic change from what she did before.. suddenly she had all this Diamanda Galas makeup), and ditched out on the end of school to go buy To Bring You My Love right when it came out. When of course there was no interwebs and things leaking early.. so you had to wait & keep up on music news in the old Alternative Press and Spin (when they were still kind of cool). the 95 cover story in Spin has some great pictures.
Saw her for the first time at the 9:30 on the Is This Desire? tour, and for the second on 9/10 at the same club just after Stories from the City came out.. both shows were amazing. ("Electric Light" and "The Sky Lit Up" are much better live, she's got such a powerful voice & I think they switched up the arrangements too.. they weren't favorites of mine on record, but after the shows, stuck with me ever since). I also remember seeing Will Oldham on the I See a Darkness tour around then, doing a gorgeous cover of "Sweeter than anything" (a PJH b-side). It happens that since 2001, I've never been in a city at the same time she's played, so I haven't seen her live in nearly 9 years. My situation being what it is right now, thanks recession, I couldn't spare the cash so I don't have tix. But I'd love to go.
To prove my love as I eagerly-but-patiently await the outcome of this giveaway, I have...
-only spoken aloud in PJ lyrics ("Robert DeNiro, sit on my face")
-listened to an excessive amount of her albums (excluding the two with JP on the off chance that you should take mercy on me)
-AND sung along, despite the absence of a "real" wall in my room, subjecting my innocent young co-habitant to all sorts of impassioned amateur modulations
-reread the relevant portions of "The Sex Revolts" (Reynolds) and the juicy portions of "Siren Rising" (Blandford)
-lit some candles
!!!
I feel as though I may have to chime in one more time to plead for the tix. You cannot see what is in my heart, but trust and believe that I dig that little Dorset pixie on the REAL.
