Things are going to get pretty amazing this Saturday at the season's last BYT Summer Camp. We have an all star space disco lineup, we're bringing back all the DJs and bands from parties past to hang out and work on their tans with us, we're lugging back in all the costumes and games and ordering some new surprises. We hope you can come.
If not for us, then for this flyer:

Anyway, we have a pair of tickets to give away, AS ALWAYS and to win just leave us a comment with a magical summer song in it (or a magically unmagical summer song) and you just may be the lucky winner we hook up.

God loves a cheerful giver.
best end of summer song ever:
and I remember how you loved me,
time was all we had until the day we said goodbye
and i remember every moment
of those Endless Summer Nights... - Richard Marx
Punches Victor in the nose. Great, ass, now that song's stuck in my head.
I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch.
Chinese food makes me sick.
I think it's fly when girls drop by for the summer,
for the summer.
I'm in love with all things La Roux( I would do dirty, DIRTY, things to Elly).....Bulletproof never leaves my head...summer must!
The sun struggles up another beautiful day
And I felt glad in my own suspicious way
Despite the contradiction and confusion
Felt tragic without reason
There's malice and there's magic in every season
Dear summer, I know you gon' miss me
For we been together like Nike Airs and crisp tees
S dots with polo fleeces
Purple label shit with the logo secret
Gimme couple years, shit I might just sneak in
A couple words and like peaches and herb
We'll be reunited and it feels so hood
Have the whole world saying "How you still so good?"
Well I do this in my slumber summer
I ain't none of these half-assed newcomers,
you know how I do summer
I drop heat, when you bring the sun up
The combo make n*ggas act up, I pick the gun up
N*ggas back up; they know I'm not no fronter
I don't talk shit, I just flip it and Un ya
Sorry Lance, I'm just trying to advance my quotes
I ain't making you the butt of my jokes
But let's not stray from what I came to say
To my beloved, think we need some time away
They say if you love it, you should let it out its cage
And fuck it, if it comes back you know it's there to stay
It's tugging, at my heart, but this time apart is needed
From the public, who should've gave me the pulitz'
Instead gave me they ass to kiss
But you know me, thugging 'til the casket dips
But still shine light down on all my peers
I know they weird, some queer, I still want them to share
And all the success I received, I know you can't believe
I still love 'em but they don't love me
They like the drunk uncle in your family
You know they lame, you feel ashamed,
but you love 'em the same
It's like when n*ggas make subliminal records
If it ain't directed directly at me, I don't respect it
You don't really want it with Hov, for the record
I put a couple careers on hold, you could be next kid
Keep entering the danger zone
You gon' make that boy Hov put your name in a song
If you that hungry for fame, motherfucker come on
Say when, take ten paces and spin
But on another note, 'bout to take another vacay
On another boat, goddamn a motherfucker rode
His way out the hood, and I pray that I stay out for good
But any day you know a n*gga could
Try and play like he Suge,
then I gotta play like Dutch Schultz
You pass the dutchie, I blast you, trust me
N*ggas can't fuck with me
I'm in a good mood, you lucky, I got a good groove
And I ain't trying to fuck my thing up
But I will lay down a couple green bucks, get you cleaned up
Now I'm Pulp Fiction, Colt four-fifth and
Young n*ggas that blast for me/blasphemy, no religion
[talking]
Listen here summer baby,
I just believe it's the right thing to do
I got a brand new bitch, corporate America
She showing me a lot of action right now
And I know you put me on my feet and all, but
I mean, it's time for me to grow
You gotta let me go baby, you gotta let me go
I'm done for now, so one for now
Possibly forever, we had fun together
But like all good things, we must come to an end
Please show the same love to my friends
Dear summer
-Jay-Z (obviously)
my flow so tight and the beat so sick, chris brown should get his ASS KICKED... ASS KICKED
Air's "Playground Love" for slow dancing, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas "Heat Wave" for hot steppin'.
I'm not sure I can top Richard Marx though.
this Summmer Camp is said to be an imitation of fashionable pool parties in San Francisco or something. Is this true?
It's gotta be Scissor Sisters "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'!'"
here is an excerpt for those of you that have not experienced this magic yet:
Wake up in the morning with a head like 'what you done?'
This used to be the life, but I don't need another one
You like cutting up and carrying on you wear them gowns
So how come I feel so lonely when you're up getting down?
So I'll play along when I hear that special song
I'm gonna be the one that gets it right
You'd better know when you're swinging 'round the room
Looks like magic's only ours tonight
But I don't feel like dancin' when the old joanna plays
My heart could take a chance but my two feet can't find a way
You'd think that I could muster up a little soft shoe gentle sway
But I don't feel like dancin' no sir no dancin' today
Ernest - the original idea was to be an actual Summer Camp. Very unpretentious. We had arts and crafts, camp games, sing-a-longs, and stuff like that. It was a day time activity that ended at 8 so you could go home, change, and head somewhere else after. We had a different camp theme each week like Space Camp or Fat Camp.
For the most part, sadly, the kids of DC didn't really get into the spirit. It's been like pulling teeth to get them to enter a balloon toss competition or to make a paper plate mask, so it's just sort of evolved into more of a pool party where you hang out and have a drink and listen to good music.
Yo, cool videos highlighting authentic DC style on Washington Post website!! Fashion & Beauty section.

Oh I wanna dance with somebody,
I want to feel the heat with somebody,
yeah I wanna dance with somebody,
with somebody who loves me.
I'm going to go ahead and be gay by assaulting your eardrums with this Madonna/GaGa/Pitbul mash. What could be more sweaty sexy diva than that?
P.S. Please bring back the moonbounce!
"Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses.
And yeah, a lot of people seem to like to hang out by the pool and just drink, but when we went to Fat Camp on the 4th it seemed like everyone was participating in the activities. We had a blast.
M. Ward. "Rave On." Light and happy and perfect for the beautiful summer weather we've been having this week. Love it.
