Ticket Giveaway: Hometown Heroes Party

Ticket Giveaway: Hometown Heroes Party

August 12, 2008 by Chris Burns Send to a Friend Send to a Friend

With the closure of Gold Leaf and the New York Ave. loft, there has been an absence of large scale, raw, underground parties this summer (with the exception of the smaller scale Redeem ragers). However, a new diamond in the rough has been unearthed in the Trinidad and Tobago Association Hall (Petworth, 1 mile from the Metro), which has played host to massive reggae and soca parties in the last few years.

Friday night marks a new chapter for this space (with many other parties to come in the Fall), along with the un-retirement of Doug Smith of 95 North (and former resident of the legendary RED in Dupont Circle). This ALL AGES afterhours rager promises to be one of the best parties of the summer with its cast of heavy hitting, hard working local talent rocking 2 rooms of sound.

On top of all of this, there is FREE FLYING DOG BEER UNTIL MIDNIGHT for those who are of age.

We are giving away 2 pairs of tickets to the best comments left about why and how you like to get DEEP. Winners will be notified with guest list spots come Friday AM

Any bitch that claims to not like it DEEP needs to seriously re-think their place in life and consider the option of just ending it now.

As I’m sure Ice Cube would agree - This party is going to run so DEEP, so DEEP, so Deep, put her ass to sleep….

I’ll be putting on my dancing shoes and drinkin’ cap for this one. :P

Deep is a state of being and an important state to be in in ones life no matter who you are. No matter what shit I face in this life that challenges me, it has always been this super deep form of music and expression…I have dedicated most of my life to explore the atmospheric soundscape of Deep House and all things Deep. As a Dj, atmospheric expression, making people happy, being happy, and sharing my interpretation of how this music should be heard…This idea seems to be where the folks of ELM and Gallery have their hearts, a place where I am at all times, and always want to be……Friday night, LODA and Hometown Heroes is where to find this…..

Peace and Love Always

CK the DJ Says:

Ah man, my homeboy Om and I have been looking forward to this for a long, long time. The words of Roland Clarks banger “The Sun” are soooo perfect here…. and of course to Todd Terry’s masterful remix:

“Friday night it’s getting dark…sun going down it’s about to start…let’s get down to the hottest spot…everybody get down, everybody get down…DJ play my favorite song…HOUSE MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG…and everybody sing along”

Ezra “Big Fist Snake Eye Smokin Joe” Van Says:

I’m only coming if they play Clear Channel top 10 Hip Hop and Jock Rock from the mid 90’s and the only way I can have a seat is to pay $300 bottle service for a “VIP” table by the bathroom. Oh wait… that’s every other club in DC.

I will be there… oh yes… I will be there.

Mary Says:

Why and How I like to get Deep.
I like to get deep to feel in it, really really alive, in it so much that I don’t remember how it felt to be mediocare. In it so much I’m past the point of being happy or sad, I just am, bliss.
And to answer how, well, trip hop helps, sufi chants come in handy, spinning around myself always does the trick, dancing so much that you think if you stop you’ll die, with a healthy degree of sex, drugs and rock and roll.
