In the light of Decemberists’ cancellations several ace local shows have been lined up at 930 this weekend.
Starting with this Friday when Gypsy Eyes presents a stellar series of local all-stars:
Revival 9pm (Josh Reed’s of These United States mothership)
Dust Galaxy 10pm (Rob Garza’s solo project whose album just came out yesterday, and this is your last chance to see them before they run off on an international tour)
The Apes 11pm (DC’s favorite guitarless art rock)
See-I Midnight (DC’s original roots reggae rockers)

Now, tickets are $10 (which to begin with is a steal) but we have 2 pairs + some SIGNED Dust Galaxy and Revival CDs to throw in to give away.
And the only thing better than a cool show is a cool show FOR FREE.
Just, as always post a comment (and use your actual email) telling us WHY you want them and they can be yours. If your “whys” are compelling enough.

I would like the tickets because I’m broke and I have a date Friday night–I’d *REALLY* like to do more than just cook for her at home! I’ve been a fan of Thievery Corporation since their DJ Kicks release and I have most of their albums and compilations. Their live shows (with I haven’t heard Dust Galaxy live though and I’m dying to see Garza perform. See-I is just icing on the cake!

November 8, 2007 at 4:48 pmHelp me get out of the house and away from dozens of boxes that need to be unpacked. I’ve been a prisoner of cardboard boxes for days. When let out for a few brief moments from my cardboard hell, I wait for Verizon to finally connect my landline after 3 attempts. This being DC and all, a cell phone doesn’t do s.hit when the city’s under seige.
Oh, but more importantly, I should be seeing See-I on behalf of my friend, who can’t, as she now has 2 young children. See-I started the whole pulling people up on stage for the last song at TC’s show when he pulled my friend up on stage several years ago. I got visual documentation if you need it!

i would like the tickets so i can go to a show of artists i am only partially familiar with. i am a big music fan and always am looking for new local music to hear. as a thievery fan i have heard see i and dust galaxy a bit but not the other groups and seeing as my money situation isnt so hot right now dont know if i would spend the money for tickets plus some drinks. basically i am always interested in new music and seeing a good show is a great way to experience artists.
