It’s going to be all real feelings, all the time when Brian Fallon plays Black Cat Mainstage this Saturday.
Perfect music to hold hands to while not seeming like a complete wuss.
Tickets are 15 bucks a pop but we have two pairs to give away.
Just leave a comment telling us which song makes you cry/you love to cry to (and yes, it is TOTALLY ok if it is Shania Twain’s “You’re still the one”) and we will notify the winner by close-of-business Friday.
Deal?
It better be a deal.
Garth just covered it, but still a good song …

There is an enormous devastation to the whole thing that’s incredible. It’s a follow-up to Thunder Road, showing the aftermath of broken promises and shattered dreams.

also, my husband danced with his mother to The Dance by Garth Brooks at our wedding……they have a story that makes this their song. lets just say their wasnt a dry eye in the place during that dance.
January 13, 2010 at 2:35 pm“Glósóli” by Sigur Rós. As if the music weren’t heartrendingly beautiful enough, the video has kids running off a cliff and taking flight. I cry like a little girl every time.
January 13, 2010 at 4:08 pm“Blister in the Sun” by the Violent Femmes. When they sing, “…big hands I know you’re the one…,” it just reminds me of the all the dating — or I guess complete lack of — I did (didn’t?) do in high school. If I dated you in high school, chances are you’re crying about it now too.
January 13, 2010 at 5:34 pmClem Snide’s cover of “I’ll Be Your Mirror”. I used to listen to that song wishing I loved someone that much.
January 14, 2010 at 8:08 amWow, funny how this coincides. It’s “Here’s Looking At You Kid” by Gaslight Anthem.
The first time I heard it was right as a 6 1/2 year relationship I was in was coming to an end. At the time it just made me look back on things with regret (the “I think something got in my eye” reaction), but now it mainly causes reflection w/ a melancholy smile…I think that’s the true emotion behind the song.
Kamal G’s song/reason is pretty damn good too.
January 14, 2010 at 11:54 amBen Folds’ “Cologne”
I start right when he’s wondering if his newly departed lover is “having the same imaginary conversation” with him about the psycho astronaut Lisa Nowack.
