Baltimore wall-of-soundscapers Thrushes sure do love effects pedals. They also love to write songs about love.
Exhibit A: “Heartbeats” off their 2007 debut LP Sun Come Undone is a masterful song, from the crushing weight of the fx’ed-out guitars to the simple-yet-highly-affecting vocals. The song’s just so damn good, that their next CD is, in fact, a collection of remixes of the track. Heartbeats Remixed drops on May 6.
Thrushes are playing a CD release party May 10 at the Metro Gallery here in Baltimore and decided it was time to clear out some wicked schwag to a few lucky show-goers. So we set up a little contest at my blog here.
Grand prize includes CDs and t-shirts from both Thrushes and openers Dead Leaf Echo (NYC), as well as some sweet signed and numbered concert flyer art and an assortment of buttons and stickers. More schwag may be added in the days to come from other bands on the bill.
