Man, there used to be a time when people popped Quayludes like candy, parties were spread by word of mouth and xeroxed flyers, and criminal records could be erased with a check from a wealthy parent. People who threw down in that era existed in a whole other party paradigm- and the tumblr, Keggers of Yore just rubs that in your face. The photos on the site are life changing.
We’ll see if byt party photos look even half as cool as these in 20 years…….
Look at how good these people are at partying with various degrees on intensity: they excel at CHILLING OUT at the pool (figure 1), HOLDING IT DOWN on the front stoop (figure 2), PREGAMING in the parking lot (figure 3), and even Keg-through-window level RAGING (figure 4).

If we had to send two delegates from the collective population of BYT party photos back in time to have a party war with the people from Keggers of Yore I would have to nominate these guys. They seem like our only hope:

Here are some more choice shots from Keggers of Yore that you should all look at as inspiration before you go out and party:

except for the grainy photos and old beer cans a lot of these folks COULD pass for the hipster crowd.

September 1, 2009 at 3:19 pmWhat was the best era of partying photos? Fig 2 makes a strong case for early 70’s, but Party Wagon homeboy makes early 80’s look pretty party-oriented…
September 1, 2009 at 3:25 pmEarly 80s (and all of the 80s for that matter) was an intense time to party for Reagan Youth but cocaine ruined a lot of it. I mean REALLY ruined a lot of it. I think 70s is your best bet for pure unadulterated beer-fueled madness. A little pot at the party is like garnish on a steak. 60s no three people were doing the same thing at the party.
September 1, 2009 at 4:16 pmi don’t get it. you guys are clearly hanging out with the wrong people.
