a. we support everyone’s need to have their own web portal for no other apparent reason than to have it (duh). And especially everyone’s need to celebrate their own web portal with a party of sorts. On a school/work/soccer practice night at that.
b. free cocktails
c. free cocktails
d. free cocktails
OK, now that we have our motivation out of the way, this is how it was:
Pretty super really.
Bobby was there (ladyfriend K.Kennedy in and on hand), and so were multiple videos playing of his interviews, hair cuts, charity activities etc, the DC United players were there as well (none with their own website at this point, and inevitably interviewing web designers in between Budweiser select drinks), all sorts of people that make the “Washingtonian” most eligible this or that list every year, a pretty high quota of pretty, tan girls in party dresses (preferably blonde), that everyone in DC thinks is a sign of a quality party, open bar for ladies till midnight (wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee), and a DJ who was one Mel C “I turn to you” song away from making us feel like we were 16 again and possibly clubbing in Ibiza (but with less foam).
Oh ….and Play lounge has stripper poles.Tho no one used them LAST NIGHT. A damn, damn shame, if you ask us.
We took some pictures (mostly utilizing Emily and her anna sui dress as a bait), but not too many, as we were too busy looking for glowsticks during that DJ Spooner track circa 1999. We did spot at least 85 other photographers there, so coverage wise, you should be covered.
coctails?

March 22, 2007 at 12:49 am[...] So, after we visited Hill and Bill on Tuesday, we decided to check in to PLAY for the exciting BobbyBoswell.com launch party, aptly starring DC United’s “super-hunk” Bobby Boswell. We meant to take pics, but our BFF Ms. Kelly Ann Collins was our date (not that kind of date, silly billys!), so we were too caught up in her fabulousness to remember to snap any shots. Instead, we asked Svetlana from Brightest Young Things if we could post one of her always amazing snaps. And, as you can see, she said yes. (Be sure to check out her full round-up, kids. She’s artfully amazing.) [...]
