God loves a cheerful giver.
I like the general spirit of bonhomie.
i just started living in DC (as a young adult) and what i like about the DC music scene is that there is so much to do, so much potential with a low barrier to entry. <3 DC
People from our scene are on latfh. Beat that Portland/Brooklyn/LA!
I like how more and more reputable DJs and producers (of all different genres) are pit stopping in DC during their tours. Thank you Mr. President.
ambiguously ethnic dj's, dancers and musicians
feel that rhythm, world
go go and hand dancing. duh.
I like the accessability and the fact that every time I jump, someone in the crowd gives me wings to fly so that body joins mind and heart in the flurry of musical air floating time.
I love the diverse nature of the D.C. scene. There is so much out there, from pop, to rock, to jazz, to R&B, and even the DC staple of Go-Go. D.C. has always been a force in the music scene, going all the way back to the Harlem Renaissance's start on U Street. I'm looking forward to what's coming next.
I like that the DC scene has a seriously reputable musical history to back up our credibility.
The bitches and the drugs. Good music too.
1. One get get in to clubs and shows under the age of 21.
2. It's not just the music that is diverse, but the people who enjoy it, from hipsters to clueless interns to longtime DC natives.
3. Awkward dancing is not just acceptable, but encouraged.
you could be a super geek, hottie, capitoll hill slave, super rich, super poor, but on the dancefloor you are just another body like me feeling it
I love that their is so much diversity in music and parties going on right now(too many maybe?). The crowds may not always be there, but the music is. Theirs ALWAYS something to do. If u can't find a good party, you aren't looking hard enough.
Everrrry-body touring stops in this area (moved here from st louis - slim pickins of good bands coming through), enough music to see somebody every night, every week of the year. amazing, love.
I like that you can go to a huge show in DC at 930 or you can go to small party at Asylum and you run into Tittsworth or Dave Nada and then people who roll through here have good friendships with them [Drop The Lime, Diplo, Switch, MSTRKRFT] and it's a more approachable scene then say.... LA, it's rad I fucking love DC.
The DC music scene has the best DJ's in the world mixin and twistin up classics and hidden gems with current club rotation. Dress to sweat cuz the people on the dancefloor leave 5 pounds lighter
the ghost of Duke Ellington is with everything. Curious homegrown experimental improv & Backyard in one night; that I hear Medic whenever Dave Nada spins.
I turn the needy into the greedy with cocaine
That would be Plant Music, not Plant.
DC/Bmore always bringing the FIRE! I am so proud to hail from there!
I like the local talent in dc, it's amazing.
DC Music is a Family Affair!
The sense of community with so many talented DJs hustlin and helpin each other out to try and make this scene bounce....from Will to Jesse, Gavin, Dmerit, Output Message, Dave, B Billion...each crew is ridiculous in its own way and they all deserve props...
There is not a strong sense of exclusivity in DC. All music is welcome if it sounds goods. And when it sounds good, all people are welcome to enjoy it. The real best part: you can always score tickets (at face price) to a sold-out event by showing up after doors open.
DC Music is that perfect mix of good music and good people. It's just a good fucking time. There's so much realness and DC "flavor" that it comes through in the music, whether it's wale, eastman, or those nouveau riche boys, and it makes you want to get your ass on that floor. Everyone is in it as a team, and that doesn't only mean the DJ's, but the audience as well. The music stems across a bunch of different genre's, but we love it all the same because it's all just so....DC.
Everyone loves it, from my little brother in 10th grade to my 47 year old aunt. as disturbing as this may sound, they have both been to at least one bliss. You never know who you may run into, because the music brings EVERYONE out.
DC is cool because, when I'm broke and decide to take a drive down thurr from philly, there are contests like these where I can cop a free ticket.
I like the DC scene because it's ours and I would fight for it and have fought for it. It's a beacon in the center of unholy land.
I like that we're all friends and chill outside the music scene too!
DC Scene = incestuous snow globe.
I need more music in my life and what better place to enjoy it than in my current DC residence.
Raving is nice. I love it! And DC is so near by with all the different people.
The local music scene of DC gives me braingasms (brain+[orgasm-or], duh). And after the few days I just spent in West Virginia, I could totally use a free one.
chatty people, fun times
Less talking; more dancing. kthx
DC music scene is all about the love of music, family, and friends. So lets keep the music pumping and the clubs jumping.
Eclectic, Diverse, Evolving, with Edge, It's Electric!
Bring back the CLUBHOUSE (13th & Upshur)
diversity.
always able to find something to fit the mood of the day.
dc music will surprise you
