Brightest Young Things

Lykke Li is so pretty and talented that we had not 1 but 2 of our finest want to shoot her on her first North American tour date (with Wildbirds & Peacedrums as a bonus) on Saturday at the Synagogue.
And when Bao and Josh ask-we cannot say no.
You couldn't either.

We have no words (though we do imagine if we did they would go something like this) but that is what comments are for and + a million pictures are worth a trillion words, right?
right.

What did she do for her encore? I had to leave early due to a health emergency.

A Tribe song (can i kick it).

And from the youtube video, she killed it on the track too. Helped out by the DJ laying down some old school flavor as a beat, Lou Reed's "Walking on the Wild Side"

Hot

fab show. I wasn't crazy about the opener -- the singing was good and the percussion was good...but the singing and the percussion together was not good.

the encore was first - a new untitled song, second - tonight, and third - can i kick it.

the opener wasn't brilliant, but they weren't awful either. i can deal with scat, but not that much of it. and i liked how passionate they were, i mean they were reallyreally into what they were doing, but i could not understand a single word that came out of her mouth.

lykke li killed it.

they crowd sung along awkwardly and she had to correct us/them during 'let it fall.'

i wish that there had been more dancing. seriously, no one danced during 'dancedancedance' (except for me and a few people in the balcony) - wtf?

Sonorous icebatqueen! Everything about this show was extremely professional and stimulating--from the lights (which ebbed slowly in ad out in the flicker of candlelight from the stage and cast long shadows of her black-drenched form against the back wall) to the interaction between performer and audience. I'm jealous of whoever it was she fist-pounded. Though really and truly if I'd wanted to go down there I would have, but I had too much respect for the dignity of my companion to provoke the embarrassment of having to be escorted out of the synagogue for throwing moist panties onstage.

Out of habit, I stalked her tour bus for a while which yielded no results. But really, I left out of shyness.

I found that the opener was innovative yet limited. Did anyone get their name?

Wow am i jealous. I want to see her in concert. Plus the shirt she's wearing in those photos is killing it.

I've seen many acts but never anything quite like this. Her mezzo-soprano practically killed me there. This is precisely the kind of band I recommend to friends and relatives.

Juliana Grace is one killer of a name. I wonder if it's for real or some Iggy Pop Bob Dylan stuff?
