all photos and brief words: Mike Danko
This turned out to be a shortened list leaving the night to Lode Runner and Cold Cave. Both I thought were great as a back-to-back lune-up, especially for those of us who'd just had the week from hell. Lode Runner delivered a solid set that I hadn't seen in a good while. I almost forgot how they sounded. Cold Cave on the other hand I had no idea what to expect and I have to say that wasn't sure I was quite pleased as I had hoped. All day I had people telling me how great they are and I really got my hopes up for something that would knock my socks off. After taking a listen to some of their tunes on my own I figured they in fact have a little more to them than I gave them credit for. What bothered me the most is that their set was short and lacked an encore.

God loves a cheerful giver.

Really dig Cold Cave's cover of "Your Silent Face" by New Order. For whatever reason they insist on referring it as "Love Comes Close." Whatever.
Cold Cave was borrring.
well you'll never see them do a cover because they wouldn't be able to fit it in the 20 minutes they insisted on playing as the headliners...
