The greatest gift god can give you- beyond for a healthy prodigal male heir- is to have your current favorite band be better than you ever expected them to be live. And on Sunday night god gave me this gift through HEALTH- and I was dead sober.
One minute they sounded like Deluxx-Folk Implosion, the next they're all hard synth. Their sound was complex, ethereal, and driven without ever being overwhelming, muddy, or pretentious- and anchored by an outstanding and intense drummer.
I should also probably mention that their girlfriends working the merch booth were like the hottest 20 year olds I'd ever seen and weren't wearing pants.
Please Please Please make sure you see HEALTH whenever you find that the opportunity arises. I know I'll lobby to bring them to the next big rager we throw.

God loves a cheerful giver.

B&W photos are rad.
