City and Colour’s Dallas Green has a voice that doesn’t seem to fit on a recording. His new album, Bring Me Your Love, is nice, but just doesn’t compare to the live experience. The man’s voice – his whole demeanor, actually – vanquishes the cheese from lines like “If you were to leave | Fulfill someone else’s dreams, I think I might totally be lost” and renders them into soulful, quiet reminders of what naked love might be. In front of a decidedly young and pierced crowd, Green and company’s love songs sounded just right resonating through the sold out 9:30 Club.
