I'm signing up for African dance classes right after I'm done reviewing this hot ass show.
The only thing I knew about The Very Best was that the group is fronted by a Malawian bike shop worker discovered by some English DJs and that the whole thing was a developing world/Diplo relationship. I don't know how the whole immigrnat/Svengali relationship and power dynamic holds true in the group, but I do know that every person who loves microcredit as much as microbrews was dancing their ass off at DC9 on Monday night, the show sold out.
My favorite things about the night:
- The two super fine dancers in spandex pants and bikini tops
- My new favorite romance jam JULIA. LISTEN NOW FOOL. It just feels so good.
- All the Malawians that came to the show and held it down
I just hope the next time The Very Best come to town they play an awesome party where I can show them my then mind blowing African dance moves.
