Karen O... Karen O. O. Oh.
The first time I heard the Yeah Yeah Yeahs I remember thinking to myself that this woman, whoever she is, embodies rock. And that was just from hearing a recording. I saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for the first time in person on Friday night at the 930 Club, and came away feeling as though my initial impression had been right on point.

Slinking onstage in a characteristic cloaked frock, Karen O instantly sent a teeming and packed 930 Club reeling with glee. I was struck by her onstage persona, her presence and her style, the entire package was put together in a way that resembled what I would perhaps describe as goth-indie-hipster. In fact, I was struck, and I believe this is evident in the photos, that she bears a resemblance to Marilyn Manson. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, she is certainly a more attractive version, don't worry Karen, you're way prettier than Brian Warner.

I saw Manson at the Mayhem Festival in early August at the Nissan Pavilion, and I have to say... their makeup scheme seems similar.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are without a doubt, one of the hottest bands to catch live in concert, I have heard from multiple sources that these guys bring it every time.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs came to DC and put on a show that killed. From the first note to the last wail, Karen O had everyone in the audience jumping and wishing they were her. I have never heard so many girls tell me that they'd like to alternately either make out with or be Karen O... Karen O, you make the panties drop. If they haven't already been anointed as a HUGE band, then they are a huge success story. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs with their spate of recent albums in the past few years have captured the attention and fascination of rock 'n roll fans right now. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, ftw. Karen O, you rule.

God loves a cheerful giver.

Karen O is a rock goddess, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are a snashingly great time in concert. The review cemented my angst in not being there.
Great show...even though there were A LOT of douchebags in the crowd. YYY's always deliver.
^ you were one of them.
didn't get a chance to see these guys this time around. saw them a few years back and it was a similar situation; douche baggery left and right. glad that you had a good and were able to enjoy yourself. karen o is amazing and so are the other two dudes in the band. nice shots dakota!
Oh college visits, why must you conflict with shows like this?!
Looks like an amazing show. I am envious of the douche bags that got to go.
