BOTs packed in the 9:30 Club on Friday, with their collared shirts, awkward dance moves, and overly excited cheers revealing it had been months (years?) since they had last been to a rock and roll show. Richard Thompson took stage a mere 50 minutes after doors opened, ripped through 2 hours of songs spanning his celebrated 40 year catalog. Famous for his witty stage banter and jaw dropping improvisational guitar solos, the man did not disappoint. Not in the least. I looked around, there wasn't a jaded hipster in sight, just a room full of smiling parents soaking in the music. I guess they're not so clueless after all.
