I was looking at shows to add to the BYT calendar the other day and saw that Here We Go Magic were playing at the Red and Black this Saturday. The name sounded familiar and sure enough I had downloaded one of their tracks (Tunnelvision) to my iPod but hadn't actually listened to it yet. I queued it up and before it was even over I was looking for a press contact. It's really good stuff.
Here We Go Magic is the third album from indie folk singer songwriter Luke Temple. We asked him to pick out his favorite tracks and give us a little commentary.
We'll start with the aforementioned Tunnelvision, here's the video for it:
Originally I was gonna do a "Crimson and Clover" thing with this song, but it just started demanding lots of tiny voices. I wanted to make a song for the girls, not a love song but the kind of song they might put on "summer mix 09" and listen to while driving to the beach.

Barry White without Barry White. I kept getting the image of hair underwater. Maybe a dead body or maybe a beautiful sea nymph.
It tells a story of a little vampire. He gets away with everything because no one is scared of him, he's very small and black and hops around.
We also asked him to give us a list of his 10 favorite things. I'm not sure if they are in order of favoriteness or not. It's a pretty sweet list.

Luke's a pretty weird guy, who knows if that was intentional or not.
