Nostalgia is a funny thing.
As that memorable quote from Kicking and Screaming goes:
Max: I'm too nostalgic. I'll admit it.
Skippy: We graduated four months ago. What can you possibly be nostalgic for?
Max: I'm nostalgic for conversations I had yesterday. I've begun reminiscing events before they even occur. I'm reminiscing this right now. I can't go to the bar because I've already looked back on it in my memory... and I didn't have a good time.
How soon is too soon to reminisce?
I don't think I really want to know.
Anyway, 3 or so summers a go when BYT was but a twinkle in my myspace blog eye and was about to move to blogspot to then be saved by Jason from self-destructing, there was a party @ Wonderland that happened every Tuesday and everyone you knew totally went to it.
The weekends were reserved for people thinking that going to Wonderland was cool, and Tuesdays were our clubhouse. Cory, who is now is Germany, started it, Gavin kept it alive after he moved for the first of a million times, Ross did all the flyers, Kat (now your sommelier for those special dinners @ one of DC's best restaurants, thankyouverymuch) was behind the bar as was Kara, who used to DJ the late and the great Evil Disco and everyone who was in a band or had a dance party or just liked beer coozies came and went.
Joel took pictures (including this Halloween set which is still one of the most epic ever) but mostly it was me with a shitty point-and-shoot and IMPACT LOLCATZ letters on top.
Gavin is resurrecting C.U.N.T tonight, and everyone and their mother is DJing it and some new kids will probably be there and dancing, but generation 2.3, meet generation 2.0 (I am smart enough not to call us 0.0 or 1.0 since my ass is gonna get whupped in comments regardless): girls on exchange from iceland, people who barely met then but are married now, bromances, girlmances and more.

I miss Svetlana in photo captions. Bring those back, Svet.
Another vote for captions. I first started to visit this site after some girl at work a couple years ago asked us to flood it with bad comments - you had said something snarky about her and she cried for days. Lets bring that back, please.
Hm. I'm still not sure how I feel about this. The original was a great year and a half though and Kat certainly deserves credit for much more than just standing behind the bar.
