Junior League is one of our dearest DC bands, and the topic on hand IS burning so, when we got this note from Lissy Rosemont, we figured we should run it:

If you wanted something to write about- Martin Thomas, our harmonica player extraordinarre, has something to say (and say it during The “Free Tibet” protests during the Olympics)….

He was deported today from China and will arrive back in the States this evening I am told. He is in the video with curly hair.

That’s cool people are doing something. The Darfur crisis is a fuck of a lot less-sexy than Tibet though and needs the same kind of attention to get China to do something about it. Can someone else do it? I’m too lazy and just sit on my ass apparently.

The funniest part of all these videos is seeing how confused the China police are when confronted with these situations. They look as though they freeze up and have no idea what to do - until they can get thru to a higher up on the walkie-talkies.

Tony - I noticed that as well. I also notice it is what this country is turning into - a populace of people who can’t deal with anything but instead have to rely on “authorities.”
