Embassy Row is the closest DC has to Disneyland so…Just a quick heads up for a billion free Embassy events involving food, art, music etc all taking place tomorrow.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to travel the globe without leaving the city! For one day, embassies will open their doors to the public and present programming that showcases their unique culture.

Cultural Tourism DC will provide free shuttles on May 17 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Three shuttles will leave from 1900 Massachusetts Avenue, NW (Dupont Circle) and will loop Massachusetts Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, and 16th Street:

Green: Massachusetts Avenue to visit Embassies of Australia, Iraq, Japan, Madagascar, Micronesia, Paraguay, Peru, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.

Blue: Connecticut Avenue to Van Ness-UDC Metro station to visit Embassies of Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Serbia.

Gold: New Hampshire Avenue/16th Street to visit Embassy of Angola and Mexican Cultural Institute.

Time: 11 am – 3 pm
Location: 1601 Massachusetts Avenue, NW
Metro: Dupont Circle (Red line)
Admission: Free, photo identification required

Under the stars of the Southern sky, take in performances of indigenous Australian music and exhibits on studying and working in Australia. The embassy’s gallery will feature photographic exhibition 1918 Australia and America: Allies on the Western Front from the Australian War Memorial.

Take part in a rare opportunity to view a compilation of National Film Board of Canada Oscar-nominated and award-winning animated shorts. Or, go on a self-guided tour of the embassy public spaces and discover the secret of the Rotunda.

Tour the embassy tea house and beautiful gravel-and-moss styled Ippakutei gardens, modeled after the famous Kyoto garden, Ryoanji. The embassy regrets that it will be unable to admit those who have not made prior reservations. There is no parking; Metro is recommended.
