Since I was remiss in a weekly food post last week, this one is twice as good. I swear.
We’ve got a look at the new places coming to National Harbor, info on Galileo, Georgetown Cupcakes to open in Bethesda, Adam Bernbach to Proof, 2nd location for Marvin, whole-animal cooking at Poste, Teddy Folkman recaps, love from The Atlantic, SilverDocs eating, new Chef Geoff’s, Maza 14 coming to Logan circle, cooking for toddlers and the results of the RAMMYs.
- National Harbor is becoming a real food destination, recently adding Ketchup, a dress-up American style joint owned by the Dolce Group in LA (Dolce, Ketchup, Geisha House, Bella and Les Deux ). NBC4 takes a look at the restaurant. Comign soon to National Harbor, expect to see: Bond 45, a New York-based Italian restaurant; Elevation Burger, a local good-for-you burger place; Red Eye Grill, another spot from New York, serving American fare and seafood; and Timothy Dean Bistro, an upscale spot from Baltimore. Add this to their existing dining destinations and a healthy weekend market, and I’m pretty impressed.

- Via Going Out Gurus: Roberto Donna finally settles down, is opening Galileo in the former Butterfield 9 space on 14th.
- Tim Carman at the City Paper has a ton of news from many excellent sources. A new Georgetown Cupcakes to open in Bethesda. Adam Bernbach to mix drinks at Proof. Marvin is looking at a second venture in Petworth.
- What a great idea. Poste is doing two very cool things. On Thursday the chef is taking people out to the local farmer’s market and shipping and cooking with them. Then every other day, you can do a family-style, whole animal meal (pig, goat, lamb, poussin, duck, squab) for six to 12 people at a cost of $27. This kind of cooking is the future of dining, and places doing it now should be given kudos.

DC gets some serious food love from The Atlantic. Best part about this article is the fact that the writer looks outside of the city and into our amazingly food-centric suburbs.
- If you’re watching Teddy Folkman on “Next Food Network Star,” you may want to go to one of his viewing parties around town. If you think that would be terribly awkward, you can read about those viewings at Capital Spice. They squirm so you don’t have to.

- Checking out SilverDocs? Get a bite to eat too. Capital Spice gives you their recommendations. I personally love Jackie’s.
- If you work at at Tyson’s Corner like me, you’ll wantto know Chef Geoff’s is opening an outpost in the former Colvin Run location on Leesburg.
- 14th Street continues to evolve. Kaz Kaz Okochi of Kaz Sushi Bistro, and Richard Sandoval of Zengo are opening Masa 14. An Asian-Latin small plates spot. Info here and here.
- Art and Soul is doing another one of their “Baby Food for the Soul” events. For $35 learn how to cook healthful food for your toddler.
Sorry for the old news, but the RAMMYs were last week and deserve a nod. The results.
