This week, DC Kids Restaurant Week, a new diner is being transported to DC today, Izakaya hits town, the W, tweet tweet, Bayou Bakery, opening at H Street, Cedar and Chuck Bass.
- DC Kids Restaurant Week is June 13th to the 21st. There's a little more info here and here.
- From Frozen Tropics, someone has purchased an old diner and is getting ready to set up shop on Bladenburg Ave NE. They are also on Twitter, @capcitydiner. Looks like the diner is being delivered today from New York if anyone wants to go check it out. The updates on the move are pretty cool!

- Blue Ridge by Barton Seaver opens soon. Capital Spice gets a look inside. Justin Guthrie will be handling the bar and bringing cocktail culture and punches to the new restaurant. I'm most excited about Seaver's plans for "whole animal" cooking. Washingtonian has the full menu here.
- As per Metrocurean, a Japanese Izakaya-style restaurant named Kushi is slated to open in the City Vista location off 5th and K. I'll be following up on this as the opening draws closer, but it'll be a while. Good friend and amazing local artist (O Street Studios) Thom Flynn will be doing the beverage service.
- The new W is getting set to open in the former Hotel Washington. It will feature a Jean-Georges restaurant and a swank new rooftop. Guaranteed best views in town.

- Street vendors across the country using Twitter. In DC, we have @fojolbros, @OnTheFlyDC and @sweetflowmobile, a new food cart from the people behind Sweet Green. Mobile frozen yogurt, genius.
- Bayou Bakery is opening soon in Clarendon. On the menu, Snoballs and homemade pralines.
- H Street Country Club opens Friday.
- Cedar has opened in Penn Quarter.
- If you're wondering where Chuck Bass got Blair Waldorf those macarons from Paris in the last minutes of Gossip Girl, it was Pierre Herme. He loves her.

God loves a cheerful giver.
Update on the Diner. From @capcitydiner: It has arrived and @dcra inspector left w/out approving foundation. Said if we place diner it is illegal.
Now what?
Justin Guthrie is no longer involved with Blue Ridge. He's working for W hotels.
Now what? Hire a crane and hoist it. Roll some stairs (like the kind you used to have to climb to get into an airplane) to the doorway.
Problem solved.
FYI, the link for H Street Country Club directs you to Frozen Tropics...
Credit where credit is due. Frozen Tropics has the info on the opening. You can check out the H Street Country Club here: http://www.hstreetcountryclub.com/ or in last week's food post.
Little Birdie - any more details? You can email me at alexandra.nicholson (at) gmail
Justin will be the beverage director at the W ... and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) dines at Bourbon Steak when he's in town. I saw him there last week ... catch up Alex.
Thanks all for the info on Justin at the W. I got all the confirmation I needed on that from some other people. Nice one for them!
