Oh my. I saw this and loved the idea.

The New Yorker
- 1 1/2 oz Bourbon
- lime
- Couple dashes of grenadine
Pour Bourbon over ice cubes in an old-fashioned glass. Squeeze lime wedge into drink and drop into glass. Add a couple dashes of grenadine, and stir well to mix. "Dashes" is a highly subjective term, but use your best judgment.

I'm starting to think my frugality is becoming a hindrance. I saw in one recipe that whiskey could be an acceptable stand-in in lieu of real bourbon. So of course I used the remainder of what I had on hand - Jack Daniel's, not remembering the big, ginormous difference between Tennessee whiskey and all others: before aging, it's filtered through maple charcoal, giving it that distinct taste. When you mix it with grenadine and a smidge of lime, it smells like sour Dimetapp. It tasted like horribly sugary whiskey, like mixing Crystal Light and Nyquil but with a smoother viscosity. Tomorrow I'm getting some Maker's Mark and doing this thing right. Or maybe just saddle up to Bourbon and let them take care of making it.
God loves a cheerful giver.
good news is you gots a killer Drank recipe.
The second pic gives me some mixological inspiration: Dime' 'n Lime!
once I get my frozen ass to CVS I'll report back on the Dime 'N Lime. wonderful idea.
