I come from a family who likes to eat and drink and doesn't like other people very much. Plus I'm an only child, my folks are divorced and we're all sensible people. This means that each year for Thanksgiving and Christmas I go to a restaurant.
If you haven't done it, please consider what a great idea it is. You spend about the same (or less) as you would cooking, you don't have to clean up and the only prep you have to do is make a reservation. If you get really lucky the valets will wash your car, like they did once for me at Vidalia. Also, you can't raise your voice in restaurants so fighting is hard (Blue Duck Tavern on Christmas Day 2006 is an exception).
What? You want leftover turkey sandwiches? Just buy some roast turkey, a can of cranberry sauce and some stovetop. You can eat that year-round, you won't notice the difference.
Sooo, if you're interested in not cooking for this holiday season, or just getting a good meal in, here are some options for restaurant meals and prepared food offerings. I'll keep this list updated through the New Year. If you have updates, just mention them in the comments and I'll get those right up.
Updated 11/18/09 2:29 - A select list of takeaway meals has been added to the bottom of this posting. Complete list available at the Washington Post's Food section.

God loves a cheerful giver.

But I can go to the Golden Corral and have an all-I-can-eat Turkey buffet with mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, cornbread, ham, black eyed peas, and peach cobbler for about $11.
And sit there and eat for 8 hours.
Michael: don't forget that you can sit and smoke cigarettes the whole time.
BYT: thank you for putting this together it is super informative.
Darby that is a point, and a good one, however I can't stand to smell smoke when I eat. I also can't drink beer when I eat.
But it does mean I can have the post-dinner cigarette and coffee.
2 or 3 years ago, my parents came to town for christmas. They were expecting me to cook, I wasn't. We ended up getting takeaway from yums.
going to Golden Corral is like paying someone else $11 to heat up your Banquet tv dinner.
