The saga of the Capital City Diner’s construction is nearing an end! On Saturday, owners Matt Ashburn and Patrick Carl opened the doors for an impromptu open house. Construction is mostly complete, and there are only a few regulatory hurdles remaining. Estimates are an opening within 3 weeks or so. If you aren’t aware, the Capital City Diner is an authentic chrome diner located now at 1050 Bladensburg Road, NE. It’s practically across the street from Jimmy Valentine’s and a bit of a walk from the Starburst intersection with H Street NE. Everyone, especially those in the neighborhood are getting excited for this.
