Peaches: the quintessential summer fruit. Apricots, go home.
Peach Blossom
- 1 1/2 oz gin
- 1/2 oz peach brandy
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp sugar
Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into highball glass filled with ice. Fill up glass with club soda. You might want to omit the sugar if 1.) you’re not a hummingbird and 2.) you don’t want a vicious hangover the next day. The drink is sweet enough as it is without the added sugar (thanks, peach brandy). The lemon juice adds a nice acidity but also thins out the peach flavor, so what you’re getting doesn’t taste exactly like a peach, but close enough. I think this would be great made in large batches and served on someone’s porch. Then again, I’m a sucker for any drink served on a porch.
