Mary Pickford was a brilliant movie star and pioneer in the motion picture industry. She was the co-founder of United Artists as well as one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She had the nickname “America’s Sweetheart,” though she was in fact born in Canada.

The Mary Pickford cocktail was supposedly created in the 1920’s by a bartender in Havana. It’s featured in the Savoy Cocktail Book. Below is a variation thereof.
Mary Pickford
- 1 1/2 oz light rum
- 1 oz pineapple juice (unsweetened)
- 1/2 tsp. grenadine
- 1/2 tsp. maraschino liqueur
Shake well with ice in a shaker, strain and serve in a cocktail glass. Best served very cold.
