Yesterday I featured the Pompier Hiball. Today I’m continuing the creme de cassis-and-vermouth theme and adding some gin to the mix. This is named for Graham Greene, author of The Quiet American. Legend has it that he created this cocktail in 1951 while writing the aforementioned novel in Vietnam, using the crisp liquor to combat the vicious humidity.
Graham Greene
- 2 oz gin
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- splash of creme de cassis
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
