Brightest Young Things

Ladies and Gentle men, the annual Repeal Ball is this Saturday at PS7. Tickets cost (probably) too much for you, attire is black tie and chances are only a handful of you will go but that is no reason not to dedicate today to one of my favorite cocktails by Gina Chersevani, the high cocktail priestess of PS7. Some may argue this is a little too summery for the first day of December, but nobody put's a good gin baby in the corner, no matter what the season.

Gnome’s Water
1 1/2 ounces Hendrick’s Gin
1/2 ounce Cointreau
Dash cucumber juice
Dash lavender syrup
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
Dash soda water

Pour first five ingredients into a cocktail shaker, give a quick roll, then pour into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top with soda water.

God loves a cheerful giver.

All I wanted to say is that I have that book that is being used as the thumbnail. It's pretty amazing.

And the "Fairies" and "Giants" books too. I used to be obsesssed with them when I was a kid: both afraid and fascinated to no end. The copies I had though are in Serbian and still in Serbia. I need to rebuy them.

I haven't seen the other two you mention. I do know "Gnomes" is out of print. You can still find it in used book stores if you look hard enough.

"faeries" and "giants" are way scarier

Gnomes has a naked gnome lady with naked gnome lady boobs though. Any such awesomeness in the other two?

definitely. i remember giants being rather scarring actually.

you can peek inside of "faeries" in here (i guess they're all done by different artists but part of the same series)
