Brightest Young Things

It's almost the three day weekend. Cocktails will help you get there....unfortunately, this might not be one of them.

Fun and Games Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz creme de cassis
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters

Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. I suppose I can see why this is named "Fun and Games": the bright colors (before shaking) detract from the taste. Without the creme de cassis, this could be a really good, stately drink. With the creme de cassis it's just a mess! The lemon, gin and bitters go well together, but throw in the cassis and it's confusing. Like a movie with two many plots, this one doesn't know where it wants to go. Does it want to be herbal? Citrus-y? Fruity? Who the hell knows? Fun and Games...you disappoint.

God loves a cheerful giver.

I'm glad the cocktails that you're covering are growing up. Creme de cassis, however, is not for beginners.

Creme de cassis drizzled on ice cream is excellent.

Seriously Svet, this is tiresome. Why not hire someone less tiresome because at this point this became even more tiresome.
