Brightest Young Things

I love Chambord and I love it in a Kir Royale.  I like finding different ways to drink it, and I love this one because it makes for a lovely cooler in late August. I could also see myself pouring this for friends in the fall due to its beautiful cranberry color and versatility.

This drink is named after Florodora, one of the first successful Broadway musicals of the 20th century.

Florodora

  • 2 ounces  dry gin
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Chambord liqueur
  • Ginger ale

Shake well with ice in a shaker, then pour - unstrained! - into a Collins glass and top off with ginger ale.  To make it an "Imperial Florodora", replace the gin with cognac. This drink is incredibly refreshing and just a little sweet, but with a real kick on the end from the gin. This is on my short list of drinks to order next time I'm at the Gibson.

God loves a cheerful giver.
