Wisdom, a self-described “cocktail parlour” in SE has some great events this month. Tomorrow they’re tasting six beers from small European breweries. June 11th features tastings of Plymouth Gin, and June 16th will have Domaine de Canton French Ginger Liqueur tastings with specialty cocktails.

As Wisdom claims to have DC’s largest selection of authentic Absinthe in DC, I’m featuring an Absinthe drink today. The vermouth nicely cuts the bitterness of Absinthe without watering it down too much, and I think this makes it a good “starter” cocktail if you’re looking to get into Absinthe.
Creole
- 1 oz Absinthe
- 2 oz sweet vermouth
Shake hard with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
