Cue Blind Melon's dancing bee girl:
Bee's Kiss
- 3/4 oz cream
- 2 barspoons honey
- 1 oz white rum
- 1/4 oz dark rum
Shake well over ice cubes in a shaker, strain into a cocktail glass*.

These are the directions, and I'm sure whomever wrote them had nothing but the best of intentions. From personal experience however I found it's much easier to stir the rum and honey together first, then shake with cream and ice. Don't believe me? Pour some honey into a shaker of ice and assorted ingredients and watch it freeze to the ice cubes and turn into a block of frozen honey. As for the drink itself? It's like a Bit O'Honey. For those who have no idea what I'm referencing, it's the last vestige of nickel candies sold in gas stations and is probably still at the bottom of your childhood trick or treat bag. Cream and rum make a dubious duo, but as long as you choose smartly (read: avoid Captain Morgan's or anything spiced) it's clear sailing.
God loves a cheerful giver.
I heart bees. I've been entertaining the idea of setting up an apiary in my HUGE BACK YARD for awhile now. Maybe this year will be the year I do it. I just hope no white people hear about it. They'll sue me on the premise that they -might- get stung. If my black neighbors find out they'll just ask for some free honey. White people always ruin everything.
This is a cocktail for 6 year olds and girls who don't like drinking.
A Bee's Knees is a far superior honey flavored cocktail.
