Brightest Young Things

Animal Collective is playing a ridiculously sold out 930 club show tonight. So-theoretically there is absolutely no need to hype this show anymore but this IS an opportunity to provide you a handy set of internet guides to all the editorial content we've done with/about them before.
Plus, a chance to run this video for the best song off of "Merriweather Post pavilion". Cool? Cool. Lets go down the rabbit hole:

And now for the clips:

A call to help Brian fight Parkinson's disease + a nice little Jimmy Buffet themed interview:

And a weird post that also starts with the sentence "Do you like Animal Collective?":

God loves a cheerful giver.

Here's my take on the show:
If you weren't high this was the one of the most boring shows ever---if you had eaten or smoked your stash you probably enjoyed it...unfortunately I wasn't high. It was like a stoner prom where everyone was dancing rythmically swaying back and forth to beach boys influenced trace music. The crowd was passive and out of it and there was some weird stuff being projected onto a balloon. Sure their were moments of brilliance on a few great songs, but I just didn't enjoy the show. i guess what it comes down to is when it comes to AC I have a few songs i like on their albums and the rest I kinda treat as filler---the problem being with the live show is you can't fast forward through that filler---your stuck in it. They're still a great band, but my fiends I were kinda bored and thats never a good thing.
It was kind of a spacey weird jam band thing--so if thats your thing you might enjoy it more than me. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was my experience...for what its worth.
