International Arts & Artists’ Hillyer Art Space presents:
Structured Turbulence, by Dana Frostick
Hillyer Art Space at 9 Hillyer Court, NW, is proud to present Structured Turbulence, a new solo exhibition by Richmond-based artist Dana Frostick.
The exhibition opens Friday, February 5th, 2010, with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring live jazz by Deon “CleanCutt” Clark. $5 suggested donation. The exhibition closes Saturday, February 27th, 2010.
The paintings presented in Structured Turbulence have their origins in the chaos and motion found in Dana Frostick’s subconscious. Her mystical process involves allowing lines to flow through her until becoming realized into more significant forms and spaces. Once these forms have been established, Frostick then revisits with conte crayon and oils to define the patterns and themes which begin to make themselves evident. The results are turbulent and intriguing.
Dana Frostick was born in Richmond, VA, where she attended Virginia Commonwealth University and studied sculpture.
We are proud to provide Dana with her first opportunity to exhibit in Washington, D.C., as a result of her selection by Hillyer Art Spaces’ Artist Advisory Committee from our 2009 Call for Artists.
Hillyer Art Space is funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and by private, local supporters.
