JUAN TEJEDOR: EVERY OUTCOME
New Sculpture
Friday, June 20, 2008 6-10 pm
Eye Street Studios
443 I St NW, Washington DC
ONE NIGHT ONLY
Free and open to the public
Inspired by the structure of maps, graphs, and natural systems, the artist has created a site-specific installation within a large studio. The abstract work is composed of diverse and unrelated found materials, including colored wire, string, and tubing. Freeform and sprawling streams of matter cling to the building, ebbing and flowing throughout the space. The viewers, when walking through the installation, will find themselves immersed in a complex and frenetic web of colors, patterns and textures. The artist envisions the installation as an experience akin to entering and walking through a line drawing.
Juan Tejedor is a Washington, DC based sculptor and painter, and is a graduate of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition in the Washington area.
