CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW: Dressed to Dance Flamenco Festival @ The Corcoran

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dressed to Dance, an exciting celebration of Spanish culture, art, fashion, and music, will be hosted by the Corcoran Gallery of Art on Monday, February 8 at 7p.m. The Corcoran Gallery and the Embassy of Spain, in collaboration with the regional government of Madrid and the Flamenco Festival New York – Washington, present Dressed to Dance, an evening of Spanish dance, costume, fashion, and music!

Vestidos para bailar – Dressed to Dance – is a unique, live runway show and simultaneous dance performance showcasing a selection of historic and modern avant-garde Spanish dance costumes. Nineteen dancers, including flamenco great Maria Pages, will perform in the Corcoran’s elegant Atrium   in costumes created by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, as well as innovative contemporary Spanish fashion designers.

Choreographed by Carlos Chamorro and produced by Margaret Jova, Dressed to Dance is part of the program Preview Spain: Arts and Culture ’10. Tickets are $35 for members of the public, and $30 for Corcoran Members.  Full-time students pay half the public price (phone only).

Following its debut in Washington, the performance will travel to New York’s Guggenheim Museum on February 10 at 8:30 p.m.
