Tropicalia, bossa, samba, forro, baile funk, MPB and more…
“Brazilian Rhythms” party at Cafe Saint-Ex. Sponsored by Som Records and Peroni Beer this is DC’s best mid-week dance-off.
Samba, MPB, tropicalia, samba rock, batucada, forro, baile funk and Brazilian hip-hop.
Never a cover. Be prepared to dance (show the out of towners how DC do it).
Maybe the president-elect will drop in for a caipirinha…
DJ Neville Chamberlain returns to Cafe Saint-Ex this
Thursday for his monthly Brazilian Rhtyhms party.
If you were there last month you know the deal – $5
caipirinhas and a packed dancefloor of sambamaniacs.
Don’t miss
10PM – Close. No Cover.
Beleza!!

I believe the phrase is “by the power VESTED in me.”
Not that I have a vested interest in this matter …
January 12, 2009 at 11:00 amAlso, does anyone know if they have got ’round to illuminating the bottom two steps at Saint-Ex?
I told the manager that all he needed was a few yards of reflective tape to do the trick, but being all fancy, he told me that they wanted to install actual lighting.
In case you are not aware, the last two steps are discontiguous from the steps above, and I saw one gal take a fall so bad that when her skull made contact with the floor, you could hear the thud from across the room.
That’s some bad karma, and the situation needs to be rectified immediately, if it hasn’t been already.
That being said, many of the DJ nights there are incredibly awesome, notably this event and Hej Hej Hej!

By the power invested in me as the Rei Momo of Brazilian night, I declare this week’s Brazilian night as the OFFICIAL after-party of the US Royalty show.
