This year, the DC Shorts Film Festival expands with 145 films -- more than any past year -- and four locations, including the festival's first foray into Virginia. The films run the gamut in genre, style and subject, but are unified by their run times of fewer than 20 minutes. The festival takes place at several venues: Landmark's E Street Cinema, H Street's Atlas Performing Arts Center, Artisphere and The U.S. Navy Memorial Theater. A free, family-friendly showcase is featured at several of the venues, and the E Street Cinema presents free lunchtime screenings on select days. The fun doesn't end with the films either. Several parties throughout the city serve up food, drinks and the opportunity to mingle with filmmakers.
