Brightest Young Things

Dearest friends,

After nearly 4 years of playing music together, we in Loose Lips have decided to hang it up and call it a day. We've really enjoyed our time playing music together over the years and are proud of all we've accomplished, but all good things must come to an end. As tough as it is, and as much as we love being a band, the time is right to bow out.

We have so so so much appreciation for everyone who supported us along the way: the people at the venues who generously let us make noise in their rooms, the music nerds who wrote nice things about us on the internet, the amazing local bands with whom we've had the great fortune to share the stage, and of course you guys: our awesome old friends and new friends we have made along the way, who so graciously came out to see us play and afterwards told us "great show, man" (even when it wasn't).

Our lofty objective when we started this band was to perhaps one day play a show at the coolest local venue in DC: Black Cat. We are lucky to have accomplished that goal many times over, and it's very fitting and fortunate that our last show will be on the main stage of that prestigious venue.

We're equally fortunate to be sharing the evening with some of our favorite bands in DC: Paperhaus, Ugly Purple Sweater, and Lightfoot.

So this is it, our last hurrah! It would mean so much to us if you could be there to celebrate yet another pretty good local band biting the dust. We will, as we always have, do our best to earn our "great show, man".
