The Hidden Talent Show
photographs, drawings, paintings, multimedia
by Leticia Grosz and Emma Norman

Leticia Grosz and Emma Norman met in the freshman dorms at Pitzer College in Southern California and immediately knew they were destined to be friends. They have common interests such as their religious ethics majors, working together to learn, teach and create art, and also trying to make babies laugh. Almost six years later, they continue to share experiences, knowledge and fun (as well as an apartment/art studio in Columbia Heights).

Emma is a film photographer who shoots in black and white. In The Hidden Talent Show, Emma displays autobiographical multimedia work and photographs from her recent visit to France. Her visual influences include Sally Mann, Jessica Woodman, and Leticia Grosz. Emma has displayed work at AfterImage Gallery in Montpelier, Vermont, as well as at Modern Times Coffee House and The Phillips Collection in Washington DC. She teaches teenagers in the Photoworks program at Glen Echo Park and the Field School. She also works at Yola.

In her work, Leticia uses a variety of media, primarily drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and photography. For The Hidden Talent Show, Leticia has created drawings in charcoal, pencil, and pen and ink that focus on her interests in surrealism, anatomy, and portraiture. Leticia's creative influences include Art Naif, iconography, and folk art. She works as a patient care navigator at Holy Cross Hospital Health Center in Silver Spring
