Wire has been quiet since 2003.
And just as people were about to fully give up hope, this week they leaked the first song on their 47th (count ‘em!) self-release (and 11th EP) which is, from what I have learned on the interwebs called, OBJECT 47.
Which is clever.
I think.
The song is called “ONE OF US”, thankfully has NOTHING TO DO WITH JOAN OSBORNE, busts out with a kicking bass line, and is well rounded, sort-of-anthemic jam ready to be played at whatever festival you plan to head out to this summer. I admit to loving it unabashedly, now, some 5 listens in.
