Laura is currently on tour with Colin Meloy (coming to DC anytime now) and has released a live-EP featuring this pretty and pretty haunting version of a lullaby dark enough for Cormac McCarthy to love. For adult babies only.

3. Mixel Pixel, “What Ever Happened to One?”
Mixel Pixel have a name and look like they would be making some psychotic electro music but in reality this song looks and feels like the (adorable) bastard child of Kimya’s “Anyone else but you” and something Dandy Warhols would write lyrics to back in Courtney’s prime.

4. Girls, “God Damned”
As your jaded music blog reading/irony saturdated head probably already expected “Girls” actually don’t have any girls in it.
But what they do have is beautiful fuzzy lo-fi guitars, witty witty lyrics and the kind of California glow that makes me want them to go on an outdoor summer tour with Coconut records while I sit front row with flowers in my hair. But seriously, listen to it.
