Brightest Young Things

This weekend is Mother's Day!
In an effort to make sure you don't forget to thank/pamper/buy brunch for the woman that carried you inside of you for 9 months, wiped your baby bottom and to whom you owe your life (quite literally) we will be sprinkling Mother's day posts through the, well, day.

Kicking off, DC's favorite holiday song makers Middle Distance Runner (remember the "Christmas song", a little while back?) decided to take a hidden track from their "Plane in Flames" album (adequately named "Momma") and re-record it for the purposes of celebrating this hallmark moment, and sent us a freshly remastered version like last night.

Listen to it here:

As you can see....It's got EVERYTHING! Trumpets! Choirs! Banjos! Even hip hops!

all this courtesy of some of their friends all of whom are part of this recording.
Check out the all star cast:

Jason "Raw Poetic" Moore (hip hop acrobat)
Tony "Tailbone" Acampora (bass guitar, of the extraordinary Greenland)
Aaron "The Bronx Bomber" Gause (trumpets, of Panacea & RPM)

The Quatro de Mayo Choir:
Nate Ridenour (of Nunchucks)
Emily "E-Bone" Kirkpatrick
Catherine "T.R.O.N." Kirkpatrick
Jamie Green (of Greenland)
Melissa Buckley (Greenland collaborator and peach of a lady)
David "Obie" Obuchowicz
Justin Kielsgaard (poetry maker, self-styled manager)
Kate "Giggles" Rogalski
Lindsay "El Harto" Hart
Chantal Lisette de la Rionda (that's enough names)
Matt "Roast Beef" Oster
Jesse "Jar" Robinson

Now go, and make some brunch reservations.
