BYT has always had a very satisfying, loving relationship with Laura Burhenn. From fashion shoots (here and here) to special “turn me on” DC centric columns to all sorts of behind-the-scenes access while she was with Georgie James, Laura is probably one of our oldest and dearest (musical) friends. The fact that she lives in Omaha now means nothing to us (aside from the missing part, of course) and we were super thrilled to find out this past week that in April (precise date: 27th), Saddle Creek will be releasing her new solo effort under the name The Mynabirds.

The material is more reminiscent of her earlier, solo stuff but much more sultry and mature, songs more of a woman than what a girl could make.
If you already had a crush on her, get ready to crush harder, and if you’re new to it all, well, good luck.
