BYT’s Favorite Song of The Morning

BYT’s Favorite Song of The Morning

June 30, 2008 by Svetlana Send to a Friend Send to a Friend

We’re going (really) old school right now.
This is the last song I heard before leaving a sweet and savory Sunday soiree.
Maybe it was the combination of crashing from a sugar high of tea sandwiches, berries, lemon bars and lavender lemonade (with something a little extra in it, thankyouvery much) or the fact that I am becoming sappier every second, or both, but it totally got to me.

So, I just washed my face to it. And brushed my teeth to it. And I will drink my coffee to it. And walk to work to it. And you should too. And lets see if it keeps up till the weekend when it may actually become pertinent.

listen here:

Somethin Stupid (with Frank Sinatra) - Nancy Sinatra

Grab the MP3 here:
Frank & Nancy - “Something Stupid”

And consider yourselves lucky I didn’t go with “You’ve lost that loving feeling” this morning.
For those who love covers and videos and love, an added bonus:
a few years a go Nicole Kidman and Robbie Williams did a cover of this nugget and did a pretty perfect Doris Day/Rock Hudson inspired video for it:

If you need me, I’ll be over here looking to retrieve my jadedness any second now.

Not enough people commented on the brilliance of this song.

Maybe if one of the DJs plays it at shorts then people will be all “oh yeah, I totally love that song.”

Aww, I wish I’d seen this post this morning… It is indeed a great song. Who hasn’t felt that “oh shit, I just admitted my feelings” feeling? ’tis a moment of great anxiety, waiting to find out whether to be embarrassed or relieved by reciprocation or a lack thereof.
