I’m convinced that nasally growls, jungle-like grunts, and imploring listeners to “do the punk rock, don’t stop” is basis for disco greatness. Drizzle a thick bass groove, toss in some obligatory synth stabs, and then you might be close to uncovering the secret of The Striker’s left-field disco hit “Body Music”. And damn, those infectious piano chords completely clinch it for me. When I toss the needle on this track, I make the funkiest stinks-so-good face you have ever seen. Like many of the singles released in the early 1980s by Prelude Records, this one still sounds fresh.
