Dawn Landes is pretty wonderful, in that simply very talented, very lovely, non-aggressive way that may make you miss her if you're not looking. She is also in DC more often that any of you would know and is everyone's opening girl Friday. (she's played with everyone to Jason Isbell to Submarines at a venue near you recently).
She opens for Tindersticks tomorrow night @ 930 club, and if you are going, go early, and get your heart broken beautifully.
Here original stuff is terrific but she also has some pretty sweet covers from Tom Petty to Paul McCartney out there. For the purposes of today, here is a bluesy and grassy take on yours and ours and everyone you know's perennial favorite "Young Folks".
