One of the best moments of my weekend was when I laid my weary eyes on this album:

which contains everything from Tracy (predictably amazingly) covering the Shangri-Las to Blondie to The Waitresses and in the middle of the glorious mess that is all is this number which apparently was a huge and genuine hit in the UK in 1983 and sounds like a cross between The Ronettes and a hit single Bangles always wished they had after “Manic Monday”.
The lyrics and the crescendo “Ba-a-a-ybeeeee” at the 2:45 min mark or so being the highlights.

p.s. Cale will be back tomorrow to save this column from all the girl harmonizing that has taken it over as of late.
